I'd been spraying for four months and the problem was just getting worse — I think I was basically training them at this point. Switched to Advion gel dots behind the stove and under the sink, added some boric acid along the back wall of the cabinet. Within ten days the numbers dropped dramatically. By week three I wasn't seeing anything during the day. I genuinely wish I'd found this approach in month one instead of month four.

The key thing for me was adding the IGR — Gentrol point source. I had tried bait gel before and it knocked them back but they kept coming back after about a month. Adding Gentrol to the protocol this time has been completely different. It's been six weeks and the infestation seems genuinely broken, not just suppressed. The combination matters; each part alone wasn't getting the job done for me.

The bait gel worked well in my kitchen — activity dropped to almost nothing within two weeks. But I live in an older building and the roaches were coming in through the walls from neighboring units. My unit is now pretty clear but they keep trickling back. I ended up having to talk to my landlord and get the building treated. The protocol definitely works for what's in your space, but if you're in multi-unit housing, you might be treating a symptom rather than the source — something to keep in mind.
