I did the DIY air sealing and it definitely helped — the drafts near the windows are gone and the main floor is noticeably warmer. But our second floor is still cold, especially the bedrooms over the garage. Did some digging and I think the issue is the ductwork in the garage — apparently a lot of conditioned air is leaking out before it gets up there. I'm getting a quote for duct sealing now. So the air sealing helped but wasn't the complete fix for us.
