    My front lawn had a classic dry triangle in one corner that I'd been hand-watering for ages.     Fixed three heads that were clearly off — one tilted, one clogged, one spraying into the fence — and the coverage improved noticeably but I still had one stubbornly dry zone along the side yard. Ended up calling an irrigation company for that one and they found the zone had seven heads on it where the design spec called for five. Previous owner had extended the zone when they added a garden bed and didn't account for the pressure drop. They split it into two zones and now everything's even. The DIY stuff was definitely worth doing first though — saved me from a bigger service call.
