    We have extremely hard water here and the showerhead was completely clogged inside the flow restrictor — I could barely see the hole in the middle of the disc. Pulled it out, soaked everything, and when that still felt a little weak, I just removed the restrictor disc entirely. Pressure is great now. I know some people have opinions about that but at 1.5 GPM the original was genuinely unusable.

    Vinegar soak helped a little but didn't fully fix it — went from almost nothing to maybe 60% of what it should be. Checked the shutoff valves and one of them was about a quarter turn closed, probably from when a plumber worked on the sink next door. Opened it fully and now we're at maybe 80%. Still not what it was, so I think the cartridge inside the valve body is worn. Getting a plumber in next month. At least the steps here helped me figure out what it actually is.
